We discuss the practice of collaborative research and the methodologies of the project with a focus on the first volume: Mapping realism (John Benjamins, 2021) edited by Rosa Mucignat, Dirk Göttsche, and Robert Weninger. Both volumes of Landscapes of Realism: Rethinking literary realism in comparative perspectives received the 2024 SELC/ESCL Excellence Award for Collaborative Research during the 10th Congress of the European Society of Comparative Literature: “Le jeu: Gambling, Gaming and Play in Literature”, 2-6 September 2024, Sorbonne University, Paris.
